With a range of rooms, from a modern one bedroom to a 3,000 square foot penthouse, this hotel has it all. Most bathrooms include a reflective closet and bathroom, which are covered in mirrors, even the floor and ceiling! Each room has an antique guitar signed by someone famous, and a goose down comforter with silk sheets. The breakfast kitchen is open until 11:30, and includes professional chefs. They can make anything you could ever want, have daily specials, and serve crepes every day. Eating locations vary as well, from the scenic, outdoor glass eating area to the indoor dining room. The hotel also offers over five other restaurants inside of it, 24-hour room service, and its own art gallery.

Can wearing a certain type of clothing help someone perform better on a test? According to recent studies done by California State University, the answer is yes. In many cases, students prefer to wear clothing that they feel comfortable in like a sweatshirt on test day. However, that may be one of the causes of students getting low test scores.

The study compared the test scores of sixty undergraduate students and the formality of their outfits. The students were asked to complete a ten question test that looked for whether students answered questions abstractly or concretely. The conclusion was that students wearing fancier and more formal clothes chose answers that were more abstract. Basically, this means that it is better to dress up for a test that is less formulaic and more abstract. Also, wearing “fancier” clothes tends to give people a confident vibe, resulting in better test scores as well. So, next time you have a test in English try swapping out sweats for a dress. A smaller study by Nautilus suggests dressing down when you have a test on something more detail-oriented. Next time you have a detailed test in history, don’t be afraid to throw on a sweatshirt.

While dressing up might not be the best strategy for math tests, this may help out students in more “abstract” classes and on more open-ended type question tests. For a math or engineering test it is found that students who dress down and more comfortable tend to perform better. An outfit can’t guarantee you an A, though, so it’s still good to do at least some studying. Sometimes little changes can result in big, positive things. Overall, there is no harm in changing up outfits especially if it can help a test grade.

Top 5 Outfits in The Halls of Treasure Mountian

In the halls of Treasure Mountain, you’ll find that the students are very trendy; but, there are more outfits that are more popular than others. So here are the top 5 outfits that the students are wearing.

1. The most popular outfit for girls this year seems to be the Lululemon leggings, a sweatshirt and Converse or Vans. This outfit is my favorite, because it really is the most comfortable outfit someone could ever wear. Though Lulus' are a little expensive, you can find almost every girl wearing them almost everyday.
2. The students at Treasure Mountain are all about athletics, so you can find that a lot of the students here wear their sports gear whether it’s game day or not. The boys' varsity soccer team can be found wearing their Park City Soccer, black-and-white zip-ups. The girls' lacrosse team (Varsity and JV) all wear their team sweats and sometimes their red (or black) windbreakers. You can also see that the baseball players have their grey jackets and the lacrosse team with a similar look. Next to Lululemons, athletic wear seems to be the most popular look of the year; since this trend does include the boys.

3. Joggers seem to be a huge trend whether you are into them or not. Both boys and girls wear joggers. Joggers are basically sweatpants that get tighter at the ankle, but are looser everywhere else. Most of the guys at our school wear Khaki Joggers. The girls here wear Adidas joggers, which are a little looser at the ends, but are still moderately skinny. This trend was started by the soccer team. This has to be one of my favorite trends of the year.


4. When guys aren’t wearing the athletic soccer joggers you can see them wearing khakis or jeans. Some guys wear skinny jeans, and others wear loose fit jeans. The most popular article of clothes that guys wear are khakis, they could be either normal khakis or joggers.


5. Almost everyone here at Treasure loves an old pair of Converse or some Vans. Even the guys are hopping on the trend. Though Nike Free Runs or just Nike shoes in general are among the most popular shoes; some guys are switching over to the Vans side. You can also find that the girls love to wear Nikes with their Lululemon leggings or shorts. The three most popular shoe brands this year are of course the Converse, Vans, and Nikes.

Top 5 Rocking the Red Carpet

The Oscars are one of the biggest events of the year where actors and musicians come together for one night. With the Oscars comes all of the makeup, hair and most importantly the dresses. Here are the top five best dressed from the Oscars.

Alicia Vikander- Alicia was known as the Belle of the ball. Alicia’s dress was a light yellow strapless dress with a balloon hemline. The dress is embroidered with silver jewels. Her dress was designed by Louis Vuitton. Some critics didn't like the balloon hemline but she still made multiple top ten lists for her dress and her dress is being talked about by everyone.

Cate Blanchett- Cate wore a dress similar to one that she wore a couple years ago. Her dress was a sea-foam green mermaid gown. Blanchett’s gown had hand sewn clusters of Swarovski crystals and white feathers. She paired her gown with a pair of diamond earrings and a bracelet from Tiffany's. Cate’s dress was designed by Armani Prive.

Brie Larson- Wore a beautiful blue ruffled gown that was custom made for Brie Larson by Michele (of Gucci) and was topped off with a pearl-encrusted belt. Her gown showed just enough skin to make it sassy yet classy. And the deep blue color made this dress get to the top of everyone’s list.

Chrissy Teigen- Chrissy rocked her baby bump in a red laced floral Marchesa gown. The gown was slim fitting and showed all of her curves and her baby bump. Chrissy paired the dress with a small red clutch and stud diamond earrings.

Rachel Mcadams- Rachel was wearing a gorgeous teal gown that is so new, it hasn't even debuted yet. Her halter neck, open back August Getty Atelier design will be shown on the runway in a matter of days at Paris Fashion Week as part of the Fall 2016 collection.

Carissa Dahl, a bona fide entrepreneur, has just recently created a fun, creative skirt. She and her friend began selling this skirt online and at small farmers' markets. Carissa and her friend were just experimenting, and having fun, so they didn't want to call it business even though the skirts sold more rapidly and many people liked these skirts. People kept coming back for her skirts, and all these people were recommending these skirts to their friends, and more and more people were coming back.

The strong sales from the skirts led her to create her own company, called Strömma. She hopes to turn her company into a line of active wear. She is returning back home to Park City to help get her line started. Carissa is launching a kick starter campaign in March to start funding for her new line. Her line includes lifestyle bags, T-shirts and tank tops to accompany the skirts. She is hoping that the kick starter will go towards scaling out and being able to manufacture products in L.A. Carissa is hoping for Strömma to be world wide.

Twenty-four year old Carissa grew up in Park City, Utah, and graduated from Park City High School. She has always been very interested in design. She went to New York to attend fashion school at Marist College, in Poughkeepsie, then realized that she didn’t like the cutthroat nature of the fashion industry. Carissa loves design, and she wanted to pursue a career in fashion. She had trouble with the fashion scene, and all the stress that comes with it. She soon learned about how little in common active wear there was to the fashion scene. Carissa, was looking into active wear, and become more and more interested in it.

Carissa is very ambitious and she has always knew what she wanted. She worked at many other companies before starting her own line and she always wanted to branch out and create her own business. Being a first timer hasn’t really gotten to her head, she is just so excited about her own line that she has to remind herself that it is her first time doing this and there are going to be ups and down throughout this whole process. "I want it to be perfect, I want to already be good at this and to know exactly what I'm doing,” says Carissa. Her experience throughout this has been very rewarding. She is ready to see where her line will take her, and all the things that come with it.

This story shows that hard work and determination pays off. Carissa had a dream, and is slowly accomplishing it. Her creativity is showing in the work she designed. Starting with a small, fun business, and turning it into a huge success is very impressive for how young she is. Carissa says, “I want to get my designs out there across the world and be able to sell them in different outdoor communities.” She is so determined to create a successful career for herself. She has shown herself that she has what it take and ready to create and enjoy all that comes with Strömma.
