Results Of The Miner Film Festival

On April fifteenth, the annual Miner Film festival was held at the Eccles Center. Students at the high school worked on their films for months, for this special day. All of their films were shown, and there were many people who won awards. Some of these awards included, best picture, best cinematography, best performance, best sound design, best writing, and the Sundance Passion Award. Here are the results.

The best picture award went to the film Distinction, by Cameron Thuman, and Gregory Foltynowicz. From watching the film, it had such a great meaning, and passion, I am glad that they won. The best Cinematography award went to the film Creativity Is Life by Gregory Foltynowicz. It was very creative and very philosophical. The best performance went to the film Despondent by Aubrie Walker. Again, a very meaningful story. The best sound design went to the film Getting By by Bennett Barbosa. A great story with a great message. Best writing also went to the film Despondent. And lastly, the Sundance Passion Award went to the film Lucid, by Mia Moyano. Lucid was a great film, that was very fun, with beautiful dancing.

Overall, the Miner Film festival was very successful, and a fun way to share the students passion of films. All the films were very well done, and were very entertaining to watch. I can’t wait to attend next year and see more great films.
