The Justin Bieber Purpose Tour has been all the rage. Fans are excited, and Bieber is putting on a "once in a lifetime" show. However, after Bieber’s latest decisions, he might’ve turned the tour from all the rage to utterly rage-inducing.
On March 22, the Canadian superstar posted a picture on Instagram of him hugging a young fan... with a caption stating that he is canceling all of his remaining meet and greets from the tour. The caption said, "Want to make people smile and happy but not at my expense and I always leave feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression." However, while Bieber might think he’s doing the best thing for himself, this is not acceptable for his fan base.
Justin Bieber’s fans paid $1,000-$2,000 for a combination package, to buy front row seats and to meet Justin before the show. Fans who purchased this package can get a full refund and get all of their money back, but they lose their seats in the process, which discourages anyone from taking this option; there's option to just get the same seats for a fair price now that the "bonus" that came with them is gone. Since the cancellation was so random, the fans that want a refund have to frantically find decent seats to get any tickets at all, and it’s so late in the tour that most of these fans will only get seats in the back. Going from the VIP section to the nosebleed section isn’t the desired situation for Beliebers. People can keep the tickets and not get any refund if they want to keep their seats, but they won’t meet Justin, and that was the entire purpose of paying thousands for the concert package; now, they’re either paying an outrageous price only for the seats or not getting good seats at all!
For the past years, Justin and his team have been trying hard to rebuild his image and create an impressive album. Bieber’s reputation was renovated and his fanbase expanded, but fans are getting angry about this news. Some fans are getting an impression that Justin is selfish and he’s just trying to get more money by doing less. They’ve been saying that Bieber is "robbing" them or "stealing" their money.
The cancellation of meet and greets is quite frustrating for fans, because they paid for such a huge amount of money. The refund rules are not sitting too well with fans, nor with Justin's reputation. Justin Bieber had better put on an amazing show, because the way this situation is being handled, his most devoted fans are only getting half of the package they actually bought.
I'm a BELIEBER and I think he'll come through with a meet and greet.
