Today, on April fourteenth is the annual Miner Film Festival. Students from Park City High School, have been putting their films together for months now, and tonight they get screened. It starts at 7:00 pm at the Eccles Center.
My brother, Gregory Foltynowicz, helped with five films, and created one of his own. When interviewing him he said, "It took a lot of work. It took 4 months to put Distinction together. First, I wrote a screenplay, and then I got feedback from multiple sources. I cleaned it up at least 5 more times before we had the final screenplay. We then started creating shot lists for every scene, and planned where to film by going location scouting. After finding an area, we contacted people who owned the property and let them sign a location release. We also made our actors and actresses sign a talent release so everything we shot of them belongs to us. We filmed using a Sony DSLR that shoots in 4k. We used a crane, slider, and a glide cam. Also, we used Zoom H4N attached to the boom mic for audio. After everything was filmed, I spent weeks editing in final cut X, day and night, first starting with clips, audio, color correction, and then grading using color finale and osiris luts. When all of that was cleaned up, we reviewed and tweaked.” Greg’s film group tried really hard to make everything perfect for this special event.
As you can see, the Miner Film Festival took a lot of work, and I think that everyone should go see it, because there are some great films and awards, for hardworking high school students.
