Miracles from Heaven

Miracles from Heaven is a Christian story about a girl named Anna, who has pseudo-construction motility disorder, which is an incurable disorder that leaves her unable to digest food. As her family searches for a way to help Anna, they find themselves visiting Dr. Nurko in Boston. Even though the future does not look bright for Anna, when she experiences a traumatic fall into a tree and hits her head, she does not die; instead, she gets cured of her disorder. Later, Anna explained to her parents that while she was in the tree and was unconscious, she went to Heaven and met God.

Miracles From Heaven is an unexpectedly effective tear-jerker [...].” says writer Ken Jaworowsk, from the New York Times. The new film has collected 101 million dollars worldwide while they filmed on a 12 million dollar budget. The movie was very Christian based, however, the story was very cute and was appealing to everyone. The movie has received 47% on rotten tomatoes, 44% on Metacritic, and 6.5/10 on IMDb. Surprisingly the movie is based on a true story about the Beam family and the movie incorporates clips of the family towards the end. “In comparison to previous, heavy-handed faith-based stories, this one gives us a child we can root for, a family we can support, and a stout performance by a steadfast leading lady,” says Sean O'Connell, a Cinemablend writer.

Final review: 7/10 horseshoes.
