St. Patrick's Day

Coming up on March seventeenth is the vibrant holiday of St. Patrick’s Day.
St. Patrick’s day is the one of the most celebrated holidays in America.

St. Patrick’s Day was based on the irish saint named St. Patrick. According to wilstar.com, St. Patrick was originally involved in the “Pagan religion.” He was captured in Wales, Scotland and was enslaved in Ireland. He eventually escaped a few years later. He went home to his family, living in Britain. His family went on a mission to Ireland, becoming a cleric, and then being a bishop for the chistian religion. Thus, he was originally known as the patron saint of Ireland.

The typical St. Patrick’s day is celebrated in many ways. It usually consists of wearing green due to the idea of getting pinched. People also celebrate this holiday by making Irish food like corned beef and cabbage, and dying different drinks green. In some cities they even have huge parades for this event. With this said, everyone should enjoy St. Patrick’s day.
