Johnny and Justin's Justification

Sorry to crush your dreams, ladies and gentlemen, but we have to set the rumor straight - Justin Bieber and Johnny Depp are not moving to Park City, Utah. You may have read the rumor online, claiming that Johnny Depp and Justin Bieber bought summer homes in Park City, but the websites on which you read this were all fake.

There were only two websites that exposed this fake celebrity news: Headline Brief and The McKenzie Post, which are websites that are now unaccessible. This was one of the clues that helped us come to the conclusion that this rumor is untrue. If this rumor was true, then it would be in multiple articles, in the news, or on the radio. These websites most likely used prank generators, where anybody is allowed to submit an article about celebrities whether the stories are accurate or not.

The real deal-breaker that made us officially decide the story was phony was that Johnny Depp and Justin Bieber apparently said the exact same things when describing why they wanted to move to Park City.

Bieber’s assistant said, “Justin immediately fell in love with the relaxed lifestyle of the Park City area and the tranquil beauty of the mountains and was telling everyone that he was going to move there.” Meanwhile, Depp’s assistant said the same thing about Johnny. In addition, both Bieber's page and Depp's page featured this exact quote: “I just want to move to a place that feels so different than what I’ve been used to for most of my life and I think this will be a great place to spend the summer.” Does it really seem likely or even possible that they would both say that in the exact same words? It certainly doesn't seem that way to us.

The reason why this fake article was posted and who posted it is still unknown. Luckily, this rumor didn’t actually do much harm - it just got the internet buzzing, fans excited, and false stories spread.
