Incredible Skiing This Friday

If you love freestyle skiing, and you aren't doing anything the week of February 1-6, go to Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR) to watch the best athletes in the world compete on one of the best super-pipes in the world. This is the twenty year anniversary of the event.

Twenty-six athletes were invited, including fourteen male - Gus Kenworthy, Alex Ferreira, Kyle Smaine, Aaron Blunck, Taylor Seaton, Torin Yater-Wallace, Lyman Currier, Birk Irving, Broby Leeds, Jaxin Hoerter, Jacob Beebe, Wing Tai Barrymore, Walter Wood, and Lennon Vaughn - and twelve female - Annalisa Drew, Devin Logan, Brita Sigourney, Maddie Bowman, Jeanee Crane-Mauzy, Jamie Crane-Mauzy, Zyre Austin, Paula Cooper, Kimmy Sharp, Allie Welsh, Bri Bogumill, and Carly Marguilles.

For the year of 2016, Park City does not have the Slopestyle competition, because when Vail bought PCMR, they told the I Ride Park City build team that they could not put up the king's crown park which was on the left side of payday run. As such, the Utah School Superintendents Association decided not to hold the Slopestyle event at PCMR; still, Park City does have the half-pipe event.

The skiing event is going to last the whole week: today, there will be registration, training, and a press meeting; on Wednesday, there is more training, as well as the first round of qualification for run order; on Thursday, still more training will take place, as will the last runs of qualification; and on Friday, the finals will start, with the awards being presented immediately afterwards.

If you love skiing, and you love to watch skiing, stop by Park City Mountain Resort this Friday to watch some incredible skiing.
