Sundance Film Festival new voices and diversity.

The most important film event in the United States is the Sundance Film Festival. Sundance takes place in Park City, Utah, on January 21st, and goes until the 31st. The Sundance Film Festival is an independent film study that allows a wide variety of independent filmmakers to share their films. Sundance attracts a wide variety of people, from all over of the world. Out of 12,700 submissions, one hundred and ninety-five movies are featured at Sundance. Over thirty-seven countries are represented in the featured films, and twenty-one countries are represented in the short films. Forty-nine of the movies chosen were first-time movie makers.

Sundance creates opportunities for new voices in film. Throughout the Film Festival, audiences will get the opportunity to see these fresh new voices in the film industry. According to Sundance complications Sundance institute press office is very busy and will not be able to provide responses. Ruth Rapella, a local in Utah who enjoys the Sundance films, responded to the following questions. The Sundance executive director, John Cooper, is looking for new voices, and original ways to tell a story. Many of these fresh new voices are taking risks, and are making creative and new movies using issue driven, animation, reenactment and graphical documentaries. Over the years diversity in these movies is something people are very proud of, it allows a different range of new movies, and a new and creative way to do so. The diversity of each of these movies provides a voice of independence and allows people to take a closer look at the voices and the talent created by these astounding filmmakers. All of these amazing filmmakers are finding non-traditional ways to create art, that allows the Sundance Film Festival to view these movies in many different ways.

Sundance brings in about 50,000 people to Park City. Many of the people coming to Park City are from all over the world. These people are programmers, journalists, filmmakers, actors, film critics, directors, and much more. Creating these films can take years to make. Hard work, devotion and love goes into each and every movie. People all over the world compete and work very hard to get into the film festival. Sundance offers a wide variety of genres such as documentary, short film, dramatic, etc. Sundance is independent filmmaking where artists create their own story, in an interesting way. The filmmakers have a chance to show their work and share it with the world.

Our community puts in time and effort setting up for Sundance, and all the great volunteers and transportation that help make it possible. Park City is very fortunate to have such a big event in our community. Locals enjoy the opportunities to see such great films. Every year there is the "Best of Fest" that takes place on the day after the festival which allows locals to see two of the winning films from different categories.
