PCHS Girls Basketball Update

    Miners’ Girls basketball is up to four wins and five losses (as of January 12, 2015). They are playing tough, and are working hard to beat other teams in Utah and in the 3A Region 10. 
The other teams in the conference are Juan Diego Catholic (13-0), Morgan (8-6), Park City (4-5), Uintah (3-4), and Union (2-9).
    At the top of the list for average points per game is Hanna Shluker with 11.0 points per game. Next on the list is Jessica Perry with 10.4 points, and then Alli Tonks with 9.9 points per game.
    At the top of the rebounding list is Rachel Brothers with 10.2 per game. The next best rebounders are Jessica Carter with 6.8 per game, and Savanna Brooks with 6.5 per game.
Marina Mayo is at the top for best steals with 3.8 steals per game. Next best stealers are Alli Tonks with 2.9 per game, and Hanna Shluker with 2.8.  
    Top blocks per game are Rachel Brothers with 2.8 blocks, Jessica Carter with 2.2 blocks, and Madeline Komisar with 1.0 blocks per game.
     They played Ben Lomond on Tuesday, December 6th, and started slow. At one point they are down “8-2”. They came out of the second quarter strong and ready for more. “They got fired up at half time. We challenged each of them to step it up a bit. They came out guns blazing and we scored eighteen points in the 3rd quarter.” said Head Coach Sam White. The final score was 53-39, Park City. They demonstrated good teamwork, and playing tough.
