Microsoft's Revolutionary new Technology

Movies are sometimes a prediction of the future, although most of the time they are completely fictional. Today, one of the most fictional technologies from movies becomes real: Holograms.

Holograms are physical renderings of digital files. For example, if someone was on a vacation to Hawaii, they could show up in my living room as a hologram. They would still be in Hawaii, but thanks to holograms he could sit down on my couch in front of the TV and have a face-to-face conversation. Crazy, right?

Researchers at Microsoft have developed holograms into existence. Their "Hololens" allows users to see holograms wherever they go. Essentially, it's Google Glass with a twist.

Microsoft Hololens allows for users to see virtual images in real life. Rather than a virtual reality headset like the Oculus Rift, Hololens uses what the user sees and adds to it, rather than replacing it entirely.

Hololens is expected to be available sometime mid 2015. Microsoft still has to work out the bugs in order to make it truly foolproof. Consumers don't want controls that only work some of the time.

This is a big step into the future of holograms. Science fiction is becoming reality, and we are gradually improving our life as we know it.
